DFW Birth Doula Services

As a birth doula serving families in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex, I provide informational, mental, emotional and physical support to all my clients—before, during and after your labor and birth. Below are some specific areas in which I will support you throughout your pregnancy, labor and birth journey.

  • In the weeks leading up to your due date, I will share a variety of resources and information to help you prep for the birth. We will use our in-person visits (virtual or in-home) as a check-in to address any questions or concerns you may have, to ensure you feel well-informed, confident, and empowered going into your birth.

By working closely together with you and your partner, I can help ensure that your birth experience aligns with your goals and values, leading to a better birth outcome and a more positive childbirth experience overall.

  • You deserve to feel empowered and fully supported in your birth decisions, no matter where or how you give birth. During labor and delivery, my primary objective is to ensure that you feel 100% supported, 100% of the time—physically, mentally and emotionally.

Together we will accomplish this through a combination of active breathing and relaxation exercises, massage, positioning and movement to facilitate positive labor progress. I will also help you ensure that your birth preferences are taken into account, and that you are well-informed about your options regarding any procedures or interventions.

  • Postpartum care is essential in helping ease the transition to new parenthood. Having someone experienced in what to expect during the postpartum period, and who can also lend a helping hand with household duties, can greatly reduce stress and anxiety for the new parents, while promoting maternal and family wellbeing.

My postpartum care services include light infant care (e.g. diaper changes, sponge bath, dressing, cuddling, etc), breastfeeding/pumping/bottle feeding/formula feeding support, meal preparation (one prepared meal or gift card included with all birth packages), light housekeeping, as well as emotional support for the new parents.

  • Breastfeeding in the early days of new parenthood can be quite the learning curve for everyone involved. Having experienced lactation support during this crucial time can be essential in helping set your breastfeeding journey down the right path from the beginning.

My services aim to provide expert advice, education, and practical tips to help you overcome breastfeeding challenges, and establish a successful breastfeeding relationship with your baby.

During our postpartum care visit, I can help assess common breastfeeding issues and recommend various remedies depending on the situation. I can also provide resources for additional breastfeeding specialist assistance as needed.

DFW Postpartum Doula Services

A Black woman in a dark blue dress with pink flowers kneeling on the floor anddressing a newborn baby in a red and blue striped onesie laying on a grey floor pillow

As a postpartum doula serving the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex, my focus is primarily on the mother/birthing person's physical, emotional and spiritual well-being, as well as the overall wellbeing of the mother-baby dyad in the immediate time following birth through the first birthday. I also help facilitate the family’s adjustment to the new household dynamic.

I offer (4) postpartum doula packages with both daytime and overnight shifts available, with the ability to customize an offering based on your family’s needs. While my services are tailored to fit each individual family, below is an overview of ways I can support your family’s postpartum journey.

  • My role as your postpartum doula is to ensure you have access to all the information you need to make the best decisions for your family. From infant care to mama care, and yes, even family care during this sacred period, I will help connect you to evidence-based informational resources for any and everything you need.

  • The importance of ensuring the new mama is deeply nurtured physically, mentally and emotionally during the postpartum period cannot be overstated. Her wellbeing during this sacred time sets the tone of the experience for the entire family. My role as your postpartum doula is to help assist with the physical and emotional aspects of recovery, with special consideration for the “First 40 Days”, while also providing companionship and nonjudgmental support as you find your footing as a new mama, whether it’s your first or fourth time around.

  • Whether breastfeeding/chestfeeding, pumping, formuIa feeding, or some combination of the above, I am here to support your feeding journey in any way you need. If you need assistance with getting (and keeping!) the perfect latch, learning the paced bottle feeding method, or simply ensuring there’s a steady supply of clean bottles or pump parts, I’m your extra set of knowledgeable hands.

  • For brand new parents, having an experienced guide to help you navigate the new reality of life with a newborn can be life-changing. As your postpartum doula, I can assist with modeling/teaching you the basics of caring for your newborn. This includes: soothing techniques, reading your baby’s cues, and how to provide/encourage opportunities for your baby to meet their growth and developmental milestones.

  • While the new mama and baby are undeniably the stars of the postpartum show, this journey will inevitably impact the entire household. A crucial role I will play as your postpartum doula is supporting the entire family’s adjustment to the new normal, including partners, siblings, other family members, and even pets. Helping ensure the household continues to run smoothly is just one way I can help relieve some of the mental and physical load, so you can focus on what matters: enjoying this beautiful time as a family. My services include tasks like shopping and meal prep, light housekeeping, sibling care and pet care.

DFW Placenta Encapsulation Services

Many families choose placenta encapsulation as a way to extend meaning, ritual, and continuity into postpartum. Mothers and other birth givers describe this as a way to close the pregnancy chapter slowly, rather than abruptly. For some, this feels grounding, protective, and emotionally stabilizing during one of the most vulnerable identity transitions of their life — matrescence.

I offer professional placenta encapsulation services within the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex following recognized industry standards so you can feel at ease with your choice to use the benefits of your placenta as part of your holistic postpartum care plan.

  • While research is limited and studies have not conclusively shown proven clinical benefit, the anecdotal reports from families who choose this service are incredibly consistent. Many who encapsulate describe:

    • More stable mood

    • Decreased emotional crash in the evenings

    • Feeling “more like myself” sooner

    • More ease with the hormone shifts of day 3–5

    • A feeling of “being able to cope” more consistently

    • Increased sense of calm

    • Support with energy and stamina in recovery

    • Perception of increased milk supply

  • Because contamination and inconsistent processing are the primary safety concerns around placenta consumption, I follow strict, APPA-approved safety protocols aligned with professional placenta preparation standards:

    • Chain of custody & temperature control: I collect placentas only after consent and handle it with PPE; placenta is refrigerated promptly and processed within FDA Food Safety guidelines.

    • Heat-processing: The placenta is thoroughly steamed and dehydrated to food safe temperatures and durations per recommended industry standards recommend to reduce microbial risk.

    • Sanitation: All work surfaces, tools, and packaging meet APPA sanitation protocols.

    • Screening & contraindications: I will not encapsulate placentas when contraindications exist (see below).

    • Education & informed consent: You will receive an informed consent form that explains reported benefits, known risks, and instructions for storage and use.

Contraindications (when I will decline service)

To protect you and your baby, I do not process or encapsulate placentas in the following situations (examples commonly recommended by professional guidance and the CDC):

    • Known or suspected bloodborne infections in the birthing parent (e.g., untreated HIV, active hepatitis B/C where documented risk exists).

    • Positive Group B Streptococcus (GBS) with neonatal infection concerns or if the newborn has signs of infection within 24 hours after birth.

    • Placental abnormalities that affect sterility or integrity (as assessed with your care team).

    • If placenta has been stored improperly (e.g., left at room temperature beyond safe timeframe).

If any of these apply, I will explain options and support safe alternatives (e.g. cord keepsakes, placenta prints).

If you have questions about a specific medical condition and whether it is a contraindication, I will review it with you and, when needed, advise you to consult with your care provider.
